Sound and Breathwork Therapy - Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Firstly, it’s normal to feel this way, and it’s not uncommon. This occurs because you’ve been holding onto stagnant, dense energies within your physical, emotional, or spiritual body, either consciously or unconsciously. It’s also known as an “energetic purge” or “healing crisis.”

Your body’s goal is to maintain equilibrium even when there are unhealthy, toxic parts within. Sound and energy healing aim to disrupt these unhealthy parts and cells, removing, releasing, and unblocking the heavy, stagnant energy that holds you back from being your best and healthiest self. Consequently, when you undergo this process, there will be a significant shift in the body’s balance, which it has diligently maintained.

It’s also normal to experience an increase in pain during a session or in the initial hours, days, or weeks afterward. This is because you’re replacing the old, low-energy state with a new, higher-energy state. Interestingly, it’s believed that the most intense pain occurs just before the healing process begins.

Vibrations are especially useful for healing the body. The adult body is 75% water, and water is a great conductor for sound vibration, when vibrations travel through the body, they promote circulation, energy flow, and rejuvenation. The frequency of the sound synchronizes with the brainwaves and activates destress responses in the body.

When sound waves reach our ears, they are converted into electrical signals that travel up the auditory nerve into the auditory cortex, the part of the brain that processes sound. Once sound waves reach our brains, they trigger responses in our bodies.

This process alters our emotions, releases hormones, and triggers certain impulses.

Breathwork therapy, a holistic practice, employs conscious breathing techniques to support emotional, mental, and physical well-being. It involves guided exercises that regulate the breath, reduce stress, and promote relaxation. While generally safe for most individuals, those with specific medical conditions should consult a healthcare provider before participating.

Breathwork therapy has been reported to offer various benefits, including improved mood, emotional release, increased energy, and enhanced self-awareness. This process alters our emotions, releases hormones, and triggers certain impulses.

With most alternative healing modalities and meditative practices, everyone’s experience is unique, and no two sessions are alike. New things may surface during the process.

Most people find our services to be incredibly relaxing, both physically and mentally. Some may experience visual (clairvoyant) or auditory (clairaudient) experiences. Others might have an emotional release or breakthrough, or in severe cases, a physical purge like screaming or vomiting. These experiences are all normal and it’s best to embrace them and allow whatever is trying to be released to come through.

During a session, you’ll typically lie down on a yoga mat or massage table, or be seated in a comfortable position with blankets and pillows, or anything else that makes you feel most at ease. Simply close your eyes and let yourself relax.

Before a session, it’s best to be relaxed and avoid rushing around with errands or chores to be in a receptive state. Wear comfortable clothing suitable for the weather.

After a session, it’s recommended to drink water and rest your body.

Common to most learning difficulties is auditory processing disorder. Even if the primary functional problem is a visual or motor issue, this processing is highly interactive and closely linked to the auditory system. This is because the brain is a highly integrated structure where each sensory system interacts with others to help us comprehend our world.

The auditory sense, in many ways, has the most profound impact on our learning abilities. Language is the primary means of communication, and hearing is more intricately integrated into our nervous system than any other sense.

Therefore, any child with a learning difficulty is likely to benefit from Sound and Breathwork Therapy. This therapy not only assists in auditory processing but has also been found to improve other types of sensory processing, including visual, motor skills, balance, and the integration between the senses.

To ensure an optimal experience during your virtual Breathwork session, please review and follow the recommendations below:

1. Preparation Environment

  • Select a quiet, distraction-free space for the duration of the session.
  • Minimize interruptions by informing others of your session and silencing all notifications on electronic devices.

2. Comfort and Equipment

  • Arrange a comfortable surface for lying down, such as a bed, yoga mat, or sofa.
  • Ensure you can fully relax and remain comfortable throughout the session.
  • Consider using an eye mask to block out light and enhance relaxation.

3. Sound Considerations

  • For solo and group practice: Use high-quality headphones to immerse yourself in the soundscapes and binaural beats.

4. Pre-Session Nutrition

  • Refrain from consuming heavy meals for at least four hours prior to the session. This allows your body to focus on the Breathwork practice rather than digestion, supporting a deeper experience.

5. Post-Session Integration

  • Allocate at least one hour after the session for personal reflection and integration.
  • Avoid scheduling major tasks, meetings, or responsibilities immediately following the session to allow yourself time to process the experience.

By adhering to these guidelines, you will be well-prepared for a transformative and enriching Breathwork journey.
